What is an Impression?
An impression is a metric used in advertising and marketing that represents a single instance of an ad being displayed on a user's screen.
-
It doesn’t mean the user clicked the ad.
-
It doesn’t even mean the user noticed it.
-
It simply means the ad was served and had the opportunity to be seen.
Example:
If your banner ad appears on a webpage, and 1,000 people load that page (and the ad loads with it), that’s 1,000 impressions.
