What charts are available in Google Search reporting?

An overview of each chart available in Google SEM reporting

Google Reporting Components 

Snapshot

Users can view high-level reporting metrics and how their impressions and clicks are broken out daily. Click on and off the impressions or clicks box to remove that line item from view.

Performance by Campaign 

When viewing an advertiser-level report. This chart breaks out the performance of each underlying campaign. You can view how each ad group performs on a campaign report. In addition, this chart is interactable.

Geography

Users have the ability to view how their target locations are performing, broken out by zip codes and locations which they can toggle between.

Conversions 

View all conversion actions and the number of conversions about that action. 

Keywords

  • Users will see a table with all of their keywords; keywords can be grouped by similarities through the data set 

  • Users can see how each keyword performed with different data points and totals at the bottom

  • roll up metrics for every search term for "exact" or "phrase" matches

  • Capitalization does not matter; we are grouping words together. For example: “snowboarding” and “Snowboarding.”

Device Type

  • The Device Type component will show the different types of devices that your ads displayed on. Targeting based on device type optimizes ads served on specific device types.

    • Mobile - These are hand-held devices that include a phone, typically a smartphone. 

    • Tablet - Mobile devices that don't necessarily include a phone, such as iPads.
    • Desktop - These are computer or laptop devices with screens larger than 7" in diagonal. 
    • Connected TV -  These are devices that stream TV content such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, and connected devices like Chromecast or Amazon Fire.
    • Other - Unknown devices or any sort of "out of home" advertisement such as a billboard.

Hour of Day

  • Users will see a graph showing darker colors for times with a higher level of impressions, clicks, CTR, or conversion rate for their ad schedule.
  • The graph will show the day of the week and hour of the day, so users can see the day and time that had the highest impact.

Download report PDF

Users can download the report PDF and customize the charts that are shown. Excess data points will be rolled over to an appendix. 

Report Shareable link

Users can generate a shareable link that can be sent to users. Shareable links do not require a login and do not expire.
