This article outlines the creative guidelines required to run a Political campaign.
Creative Guidelines
Banned Characteristics
- Political Ads should always contain a disclosure (ex: Paid for by the XYZ PAC, www.XYZ.org) that identifies who paid for the ad where required by applicable law or self-regulatory guidelines.
- Advertisers are responsible for including a "Paid for by" disclosure directly in all Political Ads, regardless of the ad format, along with any other disclosures required by law.
- Ads with AI generated content must include a notice and disclosure showcasing AI was involved in the creation of the ad
- Where a Political Election Ad is not authorized by a candidate, the disclaimer must also state that it was not authorized by any candidate
Banned Characteristics
- Hate speech, incitement to violence, or election disinformation (including questioning election legitimacy or premature victory declarations)
- Ads that are aimed primarily at suppressing voters or voting activity
- Hate content or incitement of hatred against any race, religion, creed, class, or ethnic group or of any individual or group.
- Sales or promotion of any weapons including firearms, ammunition, bombs, or related design materials.
- Gun imagery may be allowed, only in the context of 2nd amendment issues
