How to Manage your Own Line Items
If you utilize Ui.Marketing as your order management system (OMS) for your own products, use this guide to learn how to manage your line items.
This feature requires the purchase of our Order Management System software add-on.
If you are managing your own line items within Ui.Marketing, let this be your guide on best practices for managing them and communicating with fellow team members or customers.

Step-by-Step Guide
- Navigate to the line item you are managing.
- First, let's look at the navy blue line item header at the top of the page.
- Here you can add/remove flags by clicking on the flag icon.
- You can also update the status.
- Change the name of the line item.
- Navigate back to the order.
- Underneath the header, on the left, you will see Line Item Management.
- Update the Requester of the line item at any time. This is the user that created the order or was selected during the creation process.
- Add an Assignee to your line item. The Assignee is the person who is managing the line item, this can be you or someone else on your team.
- Add/remove Followers to the line item. These users will get message notifications and access to the line item detail. They cannot make any changes on the line item. If you want to add a user who is not a part of Ui.Marketing or your organization, you can add them as a Listener and they will only be able to see messages and none of the line item detail.
- Add an External ID to your line item.
- In the next card, General & Allocations, you will see two tabs:
- Allocations: This is how you want billing and pacing to be broken out. You will also be able to update each allocation row. Just double-click on the column to update the type, start/end date, goal type, and ordered amounts.
- Click "Add Allocation" to add a new allocation row if you want to renew/extend this line item. Once added, you will then need to fill out the columns for that row.
- If you click on the ellipsis on the left of the "Type" column, you can insert an allocation row in between two existing rows or delete an allocation row.
- ⚠️ BE SURE TO CLICK SAVE CHANGES⚠️ Any changes you make will not automatically save.
- Billing: This tab allows you to add a custom rate if need be for this specific line item.
- Click "Add Rate".
- Adjust the "Billing Type", "Wholesale", and "Retail" rates.

- Now that you have added a new rate, you can select it from the table. This rate will then be used for billing.
- Click "Add Rate".
- Allocations: This is how you want billing and pacing to be broken out. You will also be able to update each allocation row. Just double-click on the column to update the type, start/end date, goal type, and ordered amounts.
- On the Targeting card there are two tabs:
- Audience: This tab will appear if the line item's product utilizes audience targeting.
- Locations: Locations allows you to see what geo locations were added to the original order. You can always add or remove locations at any time.
- The Assets card allows you to see/download assets that were added to the line item when it was created. You can also add assets here at any time.
- On the right side of your line item detail screen, you can see the area for Messages and Notes.
- Messages are best for communication between all users associated with a line item (Requester, Assignee, and Followers). Messages can be used to send attachments.
- Notes are for internal team use only. These can only be seen by users who are managing line items for your organization.
