Google Business Profile Suspensions

A Google Business Profile suspension occurs when Google restricts or removes a business listing after its systems detect potential issues with the profile. This can happen if Google identifies possible policy violations, verification concerns, or activity that it considers unusual.

In many cases, suspensions are triggered automatically, particularly after significant changes to the profile, such as updating the business name, address, primary category, ownership, or other key business details.

What We Need From You

In order to submit the appeal, we will need one or more of the following documents:

  • Official business registration
  • A business license
  • Tax certificates
  • Utility bills for the business, such as:
    • Electricity
    • Phone
    • Water
    • Internet

Important: The business name and address shown on the documentation must exactly match the information on the suspended Google Business Profile.

Once you've provided the required documentation, our team will prepare and submit the appeal on your behalf and monitor its progress.

FAQs

Why was my listing suspended?

Google typically does not provide a specific reason for a suspension. Most suspensions are generated automatically by Google's systems when they detect potential policy violations, verification issues, or unusual changes to a profile. In some cases, there is no clearly identifiable trigger for the suspension.

Note: Service-Area Businesses (address is hidden on the listing) are more likely to get suspended.

How can I tell if my Google Business Profile is suspended?

A suspension notice will appear within the Google Business Profile management dashboard, indicating that the listing has been suspended. Any email address listed as an owner or manager of the listing will also get an email notification from Google.

Should I submit the appeal myself or have your team do it?

We recommend allowing our team to submit the appeal. This enables us to monitor its status, communicate with Google if additional information is requested, and escalate the case when appropriate.

How soon after the appeal will I hear back from Google?

Response times vary based on Google's review queue and the complexity of the case. On average, businesses can expect to receive a response within 7–10 business days, although some appeals may take longer.

Can I submit another appeal if we haven’t heard back?

Please avoid submitting any additional appeals until we hear back from Google. Otherwise, this will delay the process on Google’s end.
