Geofencing Overview

Geofencing refers to digital marketing tactics that leverage precise location data to target users who are in, or have been to, specific locations.

Device ID Targeting targets users who have been to a specific location or locations regardless of where they are when the ad is served. This robust dataset allows for many beneficial marketing insights including audience insights tied to the household and foot traffic/point of interest attribution reporting. This report will show the physical visits to a location based on mobile location data. 

MicroProximity targets users who are currently in a location or locations in real-time. These users are targeted only while in a specific location. Their location history is not tracked beyond that. As such, household insights and foot traffic attribution reporting are not available with MicroProximity.
