How Do I Edit My Audience Targeting on a Proposal?

For products that offer audience targeting, users can adjust the customer profiles or switch to a segment view to adjust specific audience segments.

Step-by-Step

Changing the Customer Profiles

  1. Navigate to your Proopsal you wish to change the audience targeting on. 
  2. Click Targeting (step #3) in the top navigation. 
  3. On the right-hand side (in purple) of the Targeting page within AI Media Planner, you will see the tool creates e three customer profiles. These are the type of customers the AI thinks you should target based on all of your previous inputs. This will appear in the final editable proposal and allow you to paint a more specific picture of who you're trying to reach with this campaign. These profiles will update as you change the targeting.
    1. Don't like the suggestions? Click the refresh button to the right of the first customer profile.
  4. On the left-hand side of the Targeting page, demographic targeting is at the top half of the screen. If desired, feel free to modify these to more accurately target your desired target audiences.
  5. Below the demographics, you can type in any kinds of interests, hobbies, lifestyles, buying habits, or anything else your target audience should care about. You can click the "X" to remove already selected interests.

  6. When you're satisfied with your selection, click "NEXT"

Switching to Segment View

If you wish to select specific data segments to target, you can remove the AI Media Planner's customer profiles at the line item level.

⚠️ CAUTION: By removing the customer profiles, you are removing them from ALL line items, you will not be able to get them back, and they will not be displayed on the Proposal.

  1. Navigate to the Proposal you wish to change the audience targeting on.

  2. From the Product page, click "Next".

  3. Navigate to any line item that utilizes audience targeting via the modal on the right-hand side. 
  4. Click on the Targeting tab. 
  5. You will see the customer profiles here. Underneath them, click "Segment View".
  6. A warning message will appear stating that by switching to segment view, you will remove audience profiles for ALL line items and cannot include them again. Click "continue" if you are okay with this change.
  7. In some instances, you will see audience targeting already populated. You add or remove any segments as you see fit. To add segments, click the "Search" field to search for the targeting segments you wish to add.

  8. Click as many segments as you wish.

  9. Make sure the apply applicable targeting to all line items. 


Important Callouts

  • Not all products utilize audience targeting. 

  • Based on the industry selected, some will be pre-selected. However, users can update the targeting selected.

  • When users export their proposal, the customer profiles or segments will show in the PowerPoint. 

  • When users submit the proposal in the order, the targeting will show on the line item under the "Targeting" tab.
