Alt Network Creative Guidelines: Tobacco

Due to the sensitive nature of tobacco-related advertising, we ask that you follow these simple requirements when building out your creative:

  • All tobacco-related advertisers and creatives must get their creatives pre-approved before running a campaign

  • All creatives must have the disclaimer, “WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.”

  • The company must be a licensed business

  • Ads and companies must obey the community rules and regulations where advertising*

Tobacco-Related Advertisers

Below is a list of products and/or business types that are considered to be tobacco-related:

  • Vape (e-cigarette) products

  • Vape (e-cigarette) stores

  • Head shops

  • Smoke shops

  • Hookah products

  • Anything with the word “tobacco” in it (e.g. roll-your-own tobacco, pipe tobacco, smokeless tobacco)

  • Cigar/cigarette stores and/or lounges

File formats

JPG, PNG, GIF, HTML5, third-party ad tags

Optimal file size

JPG and PNG: 750KB maximum

GIF: 3.5MB maximum

HTML5: 150KB - 750KB recommended; 2MB maximum
